How and how long will it take to get a six pack?

I want a six pack really badly but i have a big layer of fat over my stomach. I have about 2000 calories a day and i do 100 situps, 200 crunches, 30 legups, 50 squats, and 20 pushups each day. I have about 5 glasses of water each day. Am I on a good routine? Should I see reults soon? How long will it take to get a six pack abs.

You can’t really spot train, you need to do a lot more cardio to lose weight, abdominal exercises help but it’s not enough. you need to lower you bodyfat percentage.

Do heaps of youre ab exercises when ever they are not sore and get a good diet, low fat milk.

This is my trick to abs. Do hanging leg raises and hold as long as you can and keep doing it in sets this works the core and pushes your abs out

    your doing great!
    keep up!
you should try doing push ups with your feet on top of something… so they would be elevated and higher than your shoulders…i do these putting my feet on top of my bed every morning i do 30 and before i go to sleep…it works all your abs as well as your pectorals

Pushups won’t do anything for your abs, but maybe lose weight. Focus on crunches and stuff.

To be honest doing all those exercises everyday won’t make your muscles bigger. You understand when you are workingout you are breaking down the muscles. That leads to that they start to rebuild and grow bigger then before to help satisfy your need. So the muscles need rest to have the best results or you will just break down the muscles all the time. Your muscles should rest 48h minimum.

You should also aim to find something heavy like weights. Because doing fewer but harder crunches is much more effective then hundreds of normal. Doing around 8-12 crunches with heavy weight will give the best results. This will also help you to stay motivated as you don’t need to do 100 situps as you will get bored.

You will never see your six pack without losing you fat if you got a big layer. The most important thing to see your abs is the weight loss. So lose some weight. You should be under your recommended daily calories intake. 1kg is around 7000 calories so if you don’t eat anything on 3 and a half day you will lose a kg. But don’t do that just an example.

It depends how hard you work baby.

Keep up those core strengthening exercises! However, if you have a layer of fat over the abs, you’re going to need to do something else to get rid of it. Crunches and stuff are great for muscle tone, but you need to work on cardio to get rid of the excess fat on top. Like the other guy said, you can’t spot reduce. Under that fat, you probably have amazing abs already. Sounds like you’re pretty fit, but none of those exercises are going to burn fat at the optimal level. Find out your target heart rate, and walk/jog/swim or something like that to get your heart rate elevated to that level to burn off that fat.

I’ve heard from my trainer that stomach fat tends to be more related to diet than it is to your exercise routine. Make sure you’re stuffing yourself with nutrient-rich foods and staying away from junk. Eat a salad before dinner. You’ll be more full with vitamins and won’t eat as much other stuff. Get plenty of protein to encourage your muscle growth.

I used to have the fattest stomach. Here’s a good site I found that really helped. It gave me great workouts and diet tips and showed me what I was doing wrong before…

    Good luck to you!
