How To Get Washboard Abs By Doing Less Ab Exercises

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

It’s probably not your fault if you are having trouble losing weight and getting ripped abs. If you’re like the rest of us, you’re constantly bombarded with all the wrong teaching on how to get washboard abs. The diet companies and media want us to think that we must spend hours on a cardio machine every week to get the body we’re after. There are a lot of lies and misleading information out there, so lets hear the truth!

It’s time to say goodbye to all those crazy abdominal exerciser machines and the so-called magic weight loss pills. You need to know the real way to shed pounds fast so you can get washboard abs. Losing ten pounds or one hundred pounds is all done the same way, through techniques that actually work.

First, you need to stop doing a couple things that you may be doing wrong. Do you think jogging on a treadmill every day is getting you closer to your goals? If this is what you’re doing, cancel your very next workout! All that jogging is just wasting your time and not getting you closer to getting washboard abs.

Next, stop doing so many ab exercises! The abdominals are a relatively small muscle group that don’t need to be worked more than 3-4 times per week. And even then, you should only do about 5-10 minutes of ab workouts.

The real key to getting a nice set of abdominals is to lose your belly fat. Once you burn off enough fat, your abs will begin to show through. And when you get your body fat low enough you’ll get hard, ridged looking washboard abs.

So instead of spending all your time at the gym on a treadmill, head over to the free weights and start lifting heavy. Focus on full body exercises like power cleans, squats, rows, and bench presses. Lifting heavy weights like this will boost your metabolism and burn a ton of calories. Plus, you’ll be building muscle instead of burning it off.

After you have a great workout plan, it’s time to focus on the foods you eat. If you eat all the wrong foods, it will make it almost impossible for you to burn fat and get washboard abs. Next time you’re at the grocery store, spend most of your time on the outside edge where they keep the fruits, veggies, and fresh meats. Find some recipes you love and start making natural, good-for-you meals.

Do your best to stop eating junk food and other simple carbohydrates. You don’t have to commit to never eating another cookie again, but eating less will certainly help you reach your goals.

Use this article as a starting point, and keep on learning. Always look at who is doing the teaching too. If it’s some diet company trying to sell you a miracle diet pill, then you better think twice about listening to their advice. If you start small and change the little things first, then you’ll be able to accomplish your goals and finally get washboard abs.

Tyson Faulkner has been studying exercise and nutrition for years and has found that there is a lot of misleading information out there. Learn how to get washboard abs and lots of other time-tested strategies at http://thesixpacktruth.com.

How To Get Washboard Abs- Use These Tips To Get Ripped Abs

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Many men attempting to get washboard abs , find it a challenging and disheartening task. This can be especially true when your goal is to achieve a six pack. Your problem may actually be that you don’t know how to go about getting abs. So, I would like to offer some advice on how to get washboard abs.

With a little help, you will be able to get the abs you’ve always dreamed of.

My advice for obtaining a six pack:

1. Consuming high protein foods, is a great first step toward getting abs. Eating meals rich in protein will allow you to speed up your metabolism as well as enhance your muscle mass. With your increased metabolism, you will more efficiently burn off the excess fat hiding your abs, and you will be able to build more muscle in your mid section.

2. Concentrating on an exercise routine that builds abdominal muscles, is another way to assist you in getting rock hard abs. Achieving ripped abs will be easier when you follow this tip. Exercises such as cable crunches, oblique crunches, hanging knee raises, and hanging leg raises are very helpful in building washboard abs. Each ab exercise should include 3 set of 15.

3. Including cardiovascular exercise as part of your routine, will also help to build hard abs. Cardio exercises are effective at assisting you in shedding excess stomach fat, which is something you will want to do in conjunction with your ab exercises. If you want to get awesome abs fast, this is a great way to do it. Several options for effective cardiovascular exercises are jogging on a treadmill at an incline for thirty minutes and participating in fitness classes.

Get Washboard Abs with an MMA Workout

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

You can get washboard abs by doing an MMA workout just like the UFC fighters do.  UFC fighters have to build a solid core in order to not only be able to handle a punch or kick to the midsection, but also their core muscles are what can help them to torque their body in many of the holds that they put on their opponents.  Now you can learn the same techniques that they know in order to get washboard abs like they do.

In order to get washboard abs, you don’t need to spend hours upon hours doing sit ups.  In fact, sit ups are not the best exercise to get that six pack that you desire.  In order to get the best looking six pack possible, you need to do isometric core exercises.

Isometric core exercises are those that are not built around movement of the body, but rather the tightening or contracting of the muscle.  Many people who do yoga understand the meaning of isometric exercises (although this is not about yoga.)  One of the best ways to do iseometric exercises for your abs is with a plank.

By doing a plank, you are tightening your core ab muscles without “building” your ab muscles.  To do a proper plank, you place your elbows and forearms on the ground with your toes on the ground (as if you were doing a push up).  If you tighten your abs and your glutes (butt), you will feel the tension in your core muscles.  Keep that position for 30 – 45 seconds and you will start to feel the burn.

With this exercise, you will notice that there are no movements done to build muscle, which makes the ab muscle group tighten up in order to get washboard abs.  There are also many other variations that go along with doing planks that also will help to build your core muscle groups.

But don’t be mistaken, you cannot get washboard abs if you do not also make sure that you are eating the right foods and dieting correctly.  The midsection area of a body has the most fat content and so it must be free of that fat layer in order to see the results of your hard work.

All of these exercises to get washboard abs as well as ripped biceps and chest are all in Eric Wong’s MMA Ripped program.  In this program, you will learn the very best exercises that the UFC fighters are doing to get their bodies to be absolute machines.

Get Washboard Abs- Your Guide to Get Washboard Abs

Monday, April 12th, 2010

If you’re getting ready to bare your mid-section for the summer months or potentially escaping the cold for a warm vacation, getting washboard abs is probably something you would love to take with you. Potentially the top request personal trainer’s hear everywhere is with regards to tightening these muscles. Face it, when you get washboard abs they not only look great, but, they also signify the holy grail of fitness.

One big misconception that some people have regarding on how to get washboard abs is that you should be working all these muscles separately. Because these individuals often envision the so-called ‘6-pack’, they think that you can divide this muscle up, working on it section by section.

Without a clean diet, six pack abs will never be yours. One thing you must realize is that while exercise is important, it’s only going to take you so far. No matter how many crunches or sit-up variations you perform, if you’ve got a solid layer of fat covering your stomach, your muscles are not going to be seen.

Unfortunately, this simply isn’t true.

While the abs definitely do consist of a few different muscles, all of these muscles are going to contract simultaneously, helping perform whatever movement is being asked of it. You can definitely target certain areas slightly more than others, but overall, you cannot solely isolate any one of the muscles in particular.

So, having said that, try not to do too many isolated ab exercises during your workout. While these can be nice in a sense that you’ll likely really ‘feel the burn’, they aren’t going to work as many muscle fibers as possible – which is your primary goal with any weight lifting session you perform.

The better thing to instead, is to do exercises that decrease your balance because that is what best calls your muscles into action.

Think doing ab crunches on the floor is good? Move those crunches onto an stability exercise ball.

This applies for other calisthenic exercises as well. Performing a set of push-ups? Why not move those onto an exercise ball as well? It’s the perfect opportunity to really challenge those muscles and help develop washboard abs. Simply place an exercise ball under your arms or under your feet and push-up from there. If you’re really ambitious, try both at the same time (note, use a spotter when doing this as there is a good chance you’ll roll off until you gain the skill necessary to balance).

The only time when you don’t want to decrease your stability too much, however, is when you’re lifting very heavy weights in major compound lifts (such as squats for instance). This could prove to be very dangerous because one small movement in the wrong direction due to being off balance could cause your form to go and that could lead to a severe injury.

So, keep your destabilization work to exercises that are performed with your body weight or very light weights.

By following these principles though, you can get washboard abs with ease and the least amount of stress than any other method.
