Visit me at evilcyber.com Questions about lower ab workouts and exercises I see very often, especially from people who lost weight but still have some flab over that area. And numerous videos and websites seem to have the answer “Do exercise xy to target the lower abs”. But it’s all a myth, because you can’t target the lower end of the rectus abdominis muscle. In this video we are looking at why that is so and why you still “feel” the lower ab more when you do ab exercises or workouts that supposedly target them. Me and Freddie say thanks for watching and visiting!

wow i used to do this 3-4 times a week without any trouble for 2 months. i broke my collarbone about 2 months ago and now i can hardly do level 2 :/ hahha i guess 2 months lost 2 months wasted, but at the same time this motivates me even more to get back to where i was a go beyond(:
@Theneastman bro you rest a day so you can see results faster, you rip your muscles so they rebuild when you workout you have to wait so the rebuild so you can rip again. Do it every other day, and in between do upperbody cuz your probably getting abs to look good like me, might as well get your chest looking good too so what i recommend is abs monday wednesday friday then upper body / chest tuesday thurstday then a cardio/fat burner saturday then sunday be rest day
@pafciozdz thats what im saying jesus….
Wait so I’ve been doing this like everyday along with the level 2 and a diet. Some people say to rest every other day. Why? What does it do cause when I skip a day I feel bad and like fat
the fastest way to die

jogging… simply jogging everyday will get rid of excess body fat all over your body
@Evilcyber i trust him purely because of his accent.
@roryconeill A doctor, i’m 170 cm and weigh 120 lbs so i’m on the thin side, but my lower abs didn’t appear from regular crunches, they appeared when i started leg raises and “lower ab” oriented exercises!
@theman1860 you cant spot train your abs dude. and what is your “ideal” bodyweight. Who’s ideal are you basing this on? and arbitrary number you came up with??? The BMI calculator??? Because that is only an estimate for non-bodybuilders because it doesnt take into account high muscle masses . you need an accurate BODYFAT reading NOT bodyweight or bmi. You can get a good estimate with a bodyfat scale if you fast for 12 hours prior but the best way is calipers.
where do you come from that’s a pretty weird accent sounds german (i’m from germany)
I would say I totaly disagree with this video. Been doing a tonne of different abb workouts this past year and I can definantly say you can focus on a certain part of your abbs. If it were a muscle with only 2 attachments a start and an end I would agree then the spring would be a correct analogy. But the muscle is attached on multiple points and divided by compartments which are individualy activated. How else could you do belly dancing? You can’t bicep dance now can u?
@roryconeill Uhm, i’m already below my ideal weight and don’t have 6 packs, the lower 2 aren’t developped at all while the upper 2, once i started leg raises and leg lifts etc… lower ab oriented exercises, the last 2 developped pretty well and fast… so don’t change the subject and talk about body fat % while we’re talking about muscle…. Oh i forgot to mention, i already do cardio daily…
@theman1860 evilcyber is right dude. if you want more defined “lower abs” you need to lose more body fat by doing cardio. you cant develop one piece of one single muscle at a time its a myth. go running lose, some fat and your lower abs will APPEAR more defined. the definition has always been there its just not visible.
Might be easier to understand if you used hip flexor(iliopsoas)in the context.
Than things are getting clearer .For the rest Great Job again Prof!
@Evilcyber haha cheers, no worries
Keep up the good work!
@GA101 I couldn’t have said it better! Thanks for explaining this, GA!
@GA101 Ok thanks I was just making sure because by questioning you learn.
@TheGoldenBearCal no that wouldn’t work sorry
Firstly, as said in the video, the abs are all one muscle, but also just because one muscle in a pair relaxes doesn’t mean the other will tense, and vice versa.
For example, if you hang your arm loosely down by your side there is no load on either muscle and both the bicep and tricep are relaxed.
Similarly, if you hold your arm at a 90 degree angle and flex your bicep, your tricep will also tense to resist the bicep, to keep you arm from moving.
@Evilcyber I have a question. When you flex the bicep, the tricep relaxes. So if you contract the muscle that makes the Illiopsoas relax would you be able to make the lower abs work because you aren’t contracting the Illiopsoas? Video demonstration( kinda) /watch?v=JDLPFrpZdxM
